A Prowler can be used simply for sentry duty, or if given a target can be used to locate, surveil, and even eliminate a target. It has an array of sensors, a single light blaster, and arms that allow it to lift enough to carry a body as proof of capture. AP-34 was originally programmed to complement Imperial Storm Commandos, so the droid's memory was wiped when salvaged by the crew of [[Razor's Edge]], but his base programming still left him aggressive and suspicious, and though he has instructions not to kill without specific instructions, he will still habitually threaten to blast people.
