'''Transcendence Station''' is a privately-held space station on the rim of the [[Tyrin Empire|Worlds of Known Space]] that supports the independent mining operations of the Tokara belt, rich in multiple ores of moderate value. There is a crew of approximately five-hundred, with a transient population of up to six-hundred more. There is a steady flow of mining transports in and out of the belt, as well as heavy ore carriers on routes to processing plants in other systems. It is on a lightly traveled jump corridor, so is also used as a refueling and resupply point for vessels in transit. Crime on the station is a noted problem, and there have been several investigations into the legal practices of the station management.

The Station was the last place visited by ''[[Sapphire Star]]'' while under command of Captain [[Cal Doric]] while on a commercial assignment for [[Mike Houghtaling|Mike]] and [[AJ Olsen|AJ]]. Several weeks later, Mike and AJ visited there with ''[[Shining Star]]'' while looking for clues to ''Sapphire Star's'' disappearance.
