HM Naval Station Vanguard is the second largest Tyrin space station, and is situated near the Azuli border. Following the destruction of the Draal research facility The Royal Fortune was ordered to Vanguard to refuel and report, and the captured Phairon prototype vessel was also delivered there, to the Carrier Majestic.
Later, intelligence indicated a possible large-scal Azuli offensive at Vanguard, and a counter force was assembled near Vanguard under the command of Vice Admiral Morland. Ultimately this was a ruse which successfully led the Tyrin Navy to shift their forces away from their true target, the Tyrin homeworld, leading to the Battle of Alkirk.
