The Garn are an advanced and warlike race well beyond the far borders of the Federated States. There has been limited contact with them by the Fed, and all have ended badly. The technology of the Garn is well above that of other known species, and attempts to reverse-engineer samples of their technology have failed.

- The Shining Star fought and destroyed two Garn heavy fighters, and repelled a Garn boarding party. Shortly after, Michael Zuko and James Archer to used Nephilim Battlesuits to fight Garn soldiers at the Teness Mine B settlement.
