Naval Station Vanguard

HM Naval Station Vanguard is the second largest Tyrin space station, and is situated near the Azuli border.

Following the destruction of the Draal research facility The Royal Fortune was ordered to Vanguard to refuel and report, and the captured Phairon prototype vessel was also delivered there, to the Carrier Majestic.

Strike Squadron 42 Began their extended Lower Marches Campaign from Vanguard, after Mike's meeting there with Vice Admiral Morland there aboard his flagship, the Battleship Sovereign. Following the Lower Marches Campaign, Squadron 42 returned to Vanguard, and it was in the Naval Hospital at Vanguard where both Mike and AJ had surgery for injuries sustained when an Azuli missile struck the superstructure of TSS Astute, damaging the flag bridge.

Later, intelligence indicated a possible large-scale Azuli offensive at Vanguard, and a counter force was assembled near Vanguard under the command of Vice Admiral Morland. Ultimately this was a ruse which successfully led the Tyrin Navy to shift their forces away from the true target, the Tyrin homeworld, leading to the Battle of Alkirk.
