Lael
Princess Royal Lael was a princess of Tyrin who died over a hundred years ago. She died in a fire at the royal family's country palace Fairwind while reading in an upstairs room.
Lael's spirit was bound to the book she was reading at the time, a small, two-hundred year old leatherbound volume. She is now bound in some way to Mike, who can see and hear her, and the actual book will often turn up in his possession even though it should be hundreds of miles away. He will often see her reading a ghostly version of the book, though she has stated she has never been able to finish the book, her ghostly version is blank after the point she stopped reading it before her death.
At times AJ can speak with her telepathically, and can sometimes hear or sense her when Mike cannot.
